1. General Terms
Welcome to Jesse Clayton Hill, your destination for artisanal fountain pens. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of our website and the purchase of any products or services from us. By placing an order or using our services, you, the customer, agree to be bound by these terms. This outlines the agreement between Jesse Clayton Hill (referred to as "the Company," "we," "us," or "our") and you, the client (referred to as "you" or "your").
Your use of our website and any purchases made signifies your explicit acceptance of these terms. We encourage you to read them carefully.
All transactions and agreements with Jesse Clayton Hill are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
2. Custom Orders, Payments, and Shipping
2.1 Custom Order Deposits
For all bespoke and custom resin pens, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the estimated total cost is required before any design work or material sourcing commences. This deposit secures your place in our production schedule and covers initial material and labor costs. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the pen and prior to shipment.
2.2 Payment Methods
We accept major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and PayPal for all purchases. All payments must be made in USD. Orders will not be processed until full payment or the required deposit has been received and cleared.
2.3 Production Timelines
Estimated production timelines provided for custom handmade pens are good-faith estimates based on current workload and material availability. While we strive to meet these timeframes, they are not guaranteed due to the intricate, handcrafted nature of our products. We will communicate any significant delays proactively.
2.4 Shipping Policy
We ship our handmade pens domestically and internationally. All shipments include tracking and insurance. Domestic shipping costs are calculated at checkout. For international orders, customers are responsible for any applicable customs duties, taxes, or import fees levied by their country upon arrival. We are not responsible for delays caused by customs processing.
3. Warranty & Returns
3.1 Jesse Clayton Hill Lifetime Warranty
I offer a lifetime warranty against defects in craftsmanship for all Jesse Clayton Hill handmade pens. This comprehensive warranty covers issues such as faulty threads, misaligned components, or structural failures directly originating from the making process. This underscores our unwavering commitment to the quality and longevity of every bespoke writing tool.
3.2 Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accidental drops, improper cleaning practices, staining from inks (especially highly saturated or acidic ones), or normal wear and tear that naturally occurs over time with regular use. Any modifications not performed by Jesse Clayton Hill will void the warranty. Please refer to our pen care guide for optimal maintenance.
3.3 Return Policy for In-Stock Items
For in-stock fountain pens purchased directly from our website, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, provided the pen is in its original, unused, and pristine condition, complete with all original packaging. A full refund, minus original shipping costs, will be issued upon satisfactory inspection. Returns for used items or those showing signs of wear cannot be accepted.
3.4 Custom & Bespoke Order Policy
Due to their highly personalized nature, custom resin pens, ebonite pens, urushi pens, and other bespoke writing tools are non-refundable once work has begun and the initial deposit has been made. We ensure clear communication and approval throughout the creation process to meet your specifications precisely. Should you have any concerns regarding a custom order, please contact us immediately to discuss potential resolutions.
